After seeing Jane Lazenby’s photos of the beautiful Clydesdales she took at the Emley Show, Huddersfield, I knew I had to paint at least one of them. I absolutely adore heavy horses and decided to make this one my first painting of the challenge.
I was instantly drawn to the expression and movement of the horse. The tossing of the head, the sheer energy of the animal and that look of excitement in his eye. Jane had told me that he was just a yearling and was extremely excitable in the trot up in the ring, so much so that he nearly ran into the judge! Unfortunately he didn’t get placed in the class but boy isn’t he stunning!
Low resolution images are used for each painting day, this is to help to prevent unauthorised usage and downloading, hence the colours may vary slightly from that of the original.
A higher resolution image is available to view if you may be interested in purchase.
